Selection Process

The Selection Panel considers a small number of highly ranked Nominations provided to it by the World Prize Secretariat after it has assessed Nominations against the criteria. The Selection Panel then makes a final decision on the person(s) to whom the World Prize for International Integrated Development will be offered. The Selection Panel meets once per year, usually electronically. More than one Prize may be offered each year. The Selection Committee may, from time to time, also propose an outstanding person for the World Prize for International Integrated Development.

Nominations close in February, Shortlisting happens in May, Selction in April, Advice to Laureate in May and the award itself is given in September

The dates represent the usual cycle; for 2017, dates have been altered to ensure equity in ability to submit nominations.

Secretariat

The Secretariat of the World Prize for International Integrated Development is supported by the Sponsor for such functions as; preliminary sorting of Nominations for the Selection Panel, preparation of Certificates, Ceremonies/Public Lectures, liaison with the Selection Panel, maintaining the website of the World Prize for International Integrated Development and responding to donations.
